One of the benefits of being an international student in Australia is that you have
permission to work part-time 20 hours per week or 40 hours in a fortnight while
completing your degree. Australia, unlike other countries, gives those with a
student visa automatic permission to work. The Post-Study Work stream offers
extended options for working in Australia to eligible graduates of a higher
education degree. Under this stream, successful applicants are granted a work
visa with a visa period of 2, 3 or 4 years duration, depending on the highest
educational qualification they have obtained. i.e. for Bachelors, Masters, Masters
by research & Ph.D. Permanent residency is possible for certain skilled migrants.
